How to save your banner

Your communication banner is part of your signature. Depending on the messaging application you use, you will therefore need to find and save your signature to be able to use it later.

Save your banner on Outlook

There are several ways to save your banner to Outlook. You can go through the file explorer to access the folder where your signatures are stored, but you can also directly on Outlook. We show you the steps to follow to find your way around!

Through the file explorer

Since Outlook is directly integrated into Windows, you have the option of find and save your signatures using the file explorer. This method is recommended for users who are used to navigating Windows, as it may not be the easiest.

Here are the steps to follow on Windows 11:

  1. Open theFile explorer ;
  2. Access your system disk. By default, it should be the C disk ;
  3. Click on the tab Display at the top of the window, then check the box Hidden items to show hidden folders;
  4. Then navigate to the following folder: Users > [Your username] > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > Signatures. You can also, if you want, enter the following command in the address bar to access it directly: C:\Utilisateurs\ [User Name]\ AppData\ Roaming\ Microsoft\ Signatures. Remember to replace [User Name] with your username!
  5. You will find your signature in this folder. All you have to do is copy them to the place where you want to back up, for example on another disk or a USB stick.

Through Outlook

It is also possible to save your signature directly in Outlook by following the steps below:

  1. Start Outlook and click File at the top left;
  2. Select Options then Courier ;
  3. Hold the key Ctrl and click on the button Signatures ;
  4. In the folder that opens, choose the signatures you want to save and copy them to your backup folder.

Save your banner on Gmail

Create and add a signature on Gmail involves going through the parameters and copying it into the box provided for this purpose. There is no separate signature file: It is therefore not possible to make a separate backup.

That said, if you still want to save your signature on a disk, you can copy it to a text editor and save the file to keep it in text format. The banner, on the other hand, will have to be saved manually as an image.

However, note that your signature is saved in your Google account, which means you don't need to manually transfer it from one device to another!

How do I restore a deleted banner?

If you mistakenly removed the banner from your signature, you can restore it using your backup.

On Outlook, all you have to do is follow the same steps as before: in the menu File > Options > Mail, do a Ctrl + click on the button Signatures. But this time, instead of copying the signatures into a backup folder, all you have to do is paste your saved signature into the folder that opens. This will allow you to restore a complete signature including the banner. You can even use this method to import your signature onto a new computer!

In the case of Gmail, as there is no way to export the signature directly, you will need copy the text and re-insert the banner image if you deleted it by accident or if you want to add it to a new account.
